Larry Daniels, LMFT, LPC-S, Registered Play Therapist
Mr. Daniels received the Master of Arts degree in Marriage & Family Counseling from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and began counseling in 2007. He maintains both the LMFT and LPC-S licensures (Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor), as well as the Registered Play Therapist credential. He enjoys working with individuals of all ages (3 and up), along with couples and families. He utilizes various skills and approaches in counseling, including:
• Gottman Method Couples Therapy
• Play Therapy
• Attachment-based approaches
• CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
• TBRI Practitioner (Trust Based Relational Interventions)
• Theraplay
• EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing)
As a Registered Play Therapist, he uses play and expressive therapies with all age groups—not just children. Such approaches open neural networks in both sides of the brain, which allows for a greater opportunity for healing, clarity and growth. With children and play therapy, the theory goes “toys are their words, and play is their language.” Mr. Daniels invites parental involvement to regularly check on the child’s progress at home to assess gains and continued need. He considers it an honor and privilege to walk with others during times of challenge, need and struggle. Call now to make an appointment: 251-444-9740.
